PGC's History

In the spring of 1963, the Packanack Lake Golf Association was formed with the vision that a golf course would enhance the value and character of the Packanack Lake community. Plans were set in motion to build a 9-hole course that would offer both beauty and recreation. By early 1964, the Packanack Golf Club Corporation was established, and on April 7, construction began. Renowned golf course architect Geoffrey Cornish was commissioned to design the course, which officially opened for play on May 8, 1965. Since then, the course has seen thoughtful enhancements. Multiple tee areas now offer varied angles of play, giving the original 9-hole layout the feel and challenge of a full 18-hole experience. A major milestone came in 1988 with the opening of our golf clubhouse, complete with locker rooms, a pro shop, and a 575 sq. ft. patio. In 2025, Donnelly Construction fully renovated the clubhouse, from the insdie to the out, refreshing its look and feel while expanding the patio to enhance outdoor dining and events. Members also enjoy access to a grass driving range, two practice putting greens, and a dedicated practice bunker. What truly sets Packanack apart is its welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the casual, friendly spirit of the club. After your round, unwind in the dining room with sweeping views of Packanack Lake. Bordering untouched conservation land, our course is a hidden gem with some of the most scenic vistas in the area just steps from your door, ready to greet you for a few memorable holes.
